Question:

210 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí in Garda stations in County Wexford; the breakdown in each station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9148/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas, that as at 31 March 2003 there are 226 gardaí, all ranks, allocated to Garda stations in County Wexford, set out as follows.

The garda attached to Baldwinstown transferred to New Ross Garda station on 27 March 2003. The policing arrangements at Baldwinstown are currently under review and it is expected that a replacement garda will be allocated to Baldwinstown in the near future.
There are no personnel allocated to Ballywilliam. It is policed from New Ross Garda station. Ballywilliam station is opened several times a month by local arrangement to facilitate the signing of forms.
