Vol. 564 No. 2

Written Answers - Defence Forces Equipment.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

90 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Defence if all the Air Corps helicopters that were out of action for serving in February 2003 have been returned to service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8929/03]

In reply to Parliamentary Question No. 112 on 19 February 2003, I indicated that a total of seven helicopters consisting of two Dauphins, four Alouettes and one Gazelle were unserviceable. The Gazelle helicopter is unserviceable due to a crash in 2002 and is beyond economic repair. Currently, three Alouettes and one Dauphin are unserviceable.

Question No. 91 answered with Question No. 80.
