Vol. 564 No. 2

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Jack Wall

Question:

189 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of beds closed down in Naas General Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital, Athy, County Kildare; the reason for such closures; his Department's plans in relation to ensuring the use of these beds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9115/03]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons residing in Counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
