Question:214 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Transport regarding recent media reports, his position at European level to the Shannon stopover and the EU open skies policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9433/03]

I have already stated in a previous reply to Deputy Breen on 25 March 2003, that I am examining the implications for the Shannon stopover policy of the ruling issued by the European Court of Justice in November 2002, and that my examination is ongoing.
I conveyed this position in my remarks to the Transport Council at its meeting in Brussels on 28 March 2003.
