Vol. 564 No. 3

Written Answers - Installation Aid Scheme.

Olwyn Enright

Question:

75 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the existence of the Installation Aid Appeal Committee; if so, his plans to address their concerns; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9066/03]

I am aware that a number of farmers have come together to establish an installation aid appeals committee and my Department has already been in contact with a member of that group requesting a more detailed submission in order that the issues they have raised may be examined in greater depth. Following receipt of this submission, I will arrange a meeting with officials from my Department in order to discuss the matters raised.

In addition, the Agriculture Appeals Act 2001 has given, with effect from 13 May 2002, a right of appeal to any person who is dissatisfied with any decision taken by my Department under schemes such as the installation aid scheme.
