Vol. 565 No. 3

Written Answers. - Park and Ride Facilities.

Dan Neville

Question:

350 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Transport if, in view of his recent comments on parking charges imposed by Irish Rail on commuters, he will request Irish Rail to review a daily parking charge on a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who commutes daily from Limerick to Dublin. [10755/03]

Charging for car parks is a matter in the first instance for Iarnród Éireann. I understand from the company that the charge for parking at Limerick station has been in place for several years now. Iarnród Éireann has also informed me that the parking charge being imposed at Limerick station is the cheapest in the city. The charge provides funding for the upkeep and development of the parking area.
