Vol. 565 No. 4

Written Answers. - Crisis Pregnancies.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

145 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on the level of funding provided to the Crisis Pregnancy Agency in 2002 and 2003; the reason this funding has been reduced; if he has satisfied himself that it is possible for this agency to fulfil its remit in view of this reduction; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11291/03]

The allocation to the Crisis Pregnancy Agency for 2002 was €6.5 million. However, as the agency was not fully operational until mid-2002, only €2.5 million expenditure was incurred in that year. The allocation to the agency for 2003 was €5.791 million. I am satisfied that the agency is capable of fulfilling its remit within its overall allocation.
