Question:179 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Defence the legislative priorities of his Department for the current session of Dáil Éireann. [11482/03]
Written Answers. - Legislative Programme.
It is my intention that the Ombudsman (Defence Forces) Bill 2002, which was published in January 2002, will be before the Houses of the Oireachtas before the summer Dáil recess. It is also anticipated that the heads of a Bill in respect of the new legislation promised for the Curragh of Kildare will be submitted for Government approval before the end of September 2003. As regards the Civil Defence Act 2002, it is my intention to effect an order in the near future formally establishing the Civil Defence Board and giving effect to the remaining provisions of the Act.
