Question:

246 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Finance the number of nominations and appointments made by him since 6 June 2002; and the number of and areas where vacancies for such appointments will arise and when. [11864/03]

Since 6 June 2002, I have made 47 nominations or appointments, excluding ex officio appointments, to various State boards, agencies and committees under the aegis of my Department. My aim in making appointments to such bodies is to select people with the required qualities, expertise and experience to make a contribution to the body in question.

Details in so far as they are available of future vacancies, excluding ex officio appointments, that are scheduled to arise in the normal course, are set out in the following table:
