Question:

250 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance the legislative priorities of his Department for the current session of Dáil Éireann. [11482/03]

The legislative programme for my Department is set out in the press release, in respect of the Government legislation programme for the summer session 2003, which was issued by my colleague, the Government Chief Whip and Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, Deputy Hanafin. The details of the programme are as follows: the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Bill 2002 is awaiting Committee Stage in the Dáil; it is intended to publish the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Bill during this session; the publication of this Bill was agreed as part of the negotiations on Sustaining Progress.

The following Bills expected to be published this year: Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland (No 2) Bill; Civil Service Regulation (Amendment) (1956 Act) Bill; and Ombudsman (Amendment) Bill.

Other Bills being prepared are as follows: Revenue Bill; Membership of Council of Europe Development Bank and Asian Development Bank Bill; Financial Services (Consolidation) Bill; Dormant Accounts Bill and Customs and Excise (Mutual Assistance) Act 2001 (Amendment) Bill.
