Question:361 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science when a special assistant will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12167/03]
Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.
My Department sanctioned five hours of special needs assistant support for the person in question on 6 February, 2003. The school has since recruited a special needs assistant and the person is receiving the support sanctioned. I understand that the school intends submitting an application for additional support for the child. Any application received by my Department will be considered in the usual manner and a response will issue to the school authorities in due course.
