Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

John McGuinness

Question:

445 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress in providing funds for a carpark at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny; the stage the proposal is at; when a decision is expected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11677/03]

Tenders have been received for St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny including extensive siteworks, new car park, new roadways and a new main entrance gate at the hospital.

At present, approval to progress this project is currently being considered by my Department in the context of a review of health capital projects under the national development plan. It is expected that this review will be completed shortly.

My Department will then be in a position to discuss with the South Eastern Health Board the question of progressing this project in the light of capital priorities overall within the board's area and in line with funding resources available under the NDP.
