John McGuinness

Question:

469 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the home supports which will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny whose child is deaf, blind and has severe brain damage; his views on correspondence relating to this case; if the SEHB can assist in the case; the services which should be available to the child based on the assessment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11812/03]

The provision of health related services, including home support services, for people with disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Question No. 470 answered with Question No. 130.
