Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

471 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if an operation will be expedited for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the reason the operation was promised in January 2003 within two months and then postponed for 12 months due to a waiting list; if the operation, which is required urgently, as stated by this person's general practitioner, can be provided under the treatment purchase scheme; his views on the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11814/03]

The provision of hospital services for people living in County Kilkenny is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into this matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
