Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Maternity Services.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

489 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans in place to increase the number of maternity beds in the Dublin area; and if an assessment of anticipated demand has been undertaken. [12000/03]

Responsibility for the funding of services at the Dublin maternity hospitals rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised and respond directly to the Deputy.
