495 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has still not been called for a hip replacement operation in view of the length of time they have been on the waiting list; and when they will be called for surgery. [12075/03]

The provision of medical services in this case is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.

496 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Galway has been called for a hip operation in view of the fact that they were put on the waiting list in March 2002 and promised they would be called within six months; and when this person can expect to be called. [12076/03]
