539 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a statement on the proposal in the recent draft report of the task force on medical staffing suggesting that he should negotiate a derogation from the European Union working time directive. [12310/03]

The report of the national task force on medical staffing has not yet been finalised. I understand that the report will not propose any derogation from the requirements of the European working time directive.
