Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Public Transport.

Billy Timmins

Question:

575 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Transport when the DART to Greystones project was approved; the person by whom it was approved; the other approval stages involved in the contract; the persons or body who authorised these and when; the other details surrounding the contract and its implementation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12212/03]

I am informed by CIE that the CIE board approved the project in July 1995. As the work on the project was undertaken either by Iarnród Éireann or by contractors working for it, I do not have details of the contracts involved. Such matters are an operational matter for the company.
