Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Seán Haughey

Question:

604 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a business permit will only be granted provided that the applicant has an Irish partner; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12198/03]

I presume the Deputy is referring to the permission required by non-European Economic Area nationals who wish to come to the State to establish a business. I can advise the Deputy that the criteria for obtaining business permission do not embody a requirement that the applicant must have an Irish business partner.
