Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Criminal Assets Bureau.

Finian McGrath

Question:

606 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the amount of cash and property confiscated by CAB on the northside of Dublin over the past year. [11343/03]

The Criminal Assets Bureau Act 1996 provides that an annual report on the activities of the bureau will be laid before the Oireachtas not later than six months after the end of each year. The most recent report is in respect of 2001 and is available in the Oireachtas Library. It outlines the actions taken by the bureau in pursuit of its statutory objectives and in the execution of its statutory functions. For reasons relating to the fact that specific details of cases cannot be disclosed in order to protect the identity of individuals, it is not the bureau's practice to disclose amounts relating to particular cases.
