Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Paudge Connolly

Question:

109 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Health and Children when it is proposed to allocate the ?6.1 million balance of the promised ?12 million for disability services, having already made ?5.9 million available for this purpose; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11771/03]

James Breen

Question:

443 Mr. J. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he plans to ensure that funding promised for disability services is delivered; the reason the funding was reduced from ?12 million to ?5.9 million; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11675/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 109 and 443 together.

I assume the Deputies are referring to the sum of €5.9 million which remains to be allocated in the current year to address the under-resourcing of services for people with physical and-or sensory disabilities. I hope to make a decision on this shortly.
