Vol. 566 No. 2

Written Answers. - General Practitioner Service.

Bernard Allen

Question:

172 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if the general practice out of hours co-op funding announced by him in mid-April 2003 is part of a ?10 million primary care development fund already earmarked as part of the Estimates in November 2002 in the context of the primary care strategy discussions; and if the ?4 million announced in April 2003 for general practitioner co-ops had already been allocated under the primary care strategy for 2003. [12570/03]

The general practitioner co-operative funding announced in April was a part of the €10 million allocated to the wider primary care area, not solely the primary care strategy, as part of the Estimates process. The €4 million funding in question had not already been allocated to the primary care strategy.
