Vol. 566 No. 2

Written Answers. - Environmental Policy.

Denis Naughten

Question:

194 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No. 413 of 8 April, 2003, when the working group will meet; the agenda for this meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12490/03]

A meeting arranged for Friday 2 May had to be cancelled as some key landowners' representatives were not available. It is proposed to find a suitable alternative date for a meeting before the end of May.

The agenda for this meeting is to discuss outstanding issues with a view to finalising agreed habitat management arrangements for callow lands. As part of this agenda, the report of the expert team on losses and costs for landowners arising from implementation of the draft prescriptions will be presented and discussed. I hope that discussion of the report will enable all outstanding issues to be resolved.
