Vol. 566 No. 4

Written Answers. - Site Development.

Billy Timmins

Question:

132 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason he is delaying the approval of plans for the development of a derelict site in Hacketstown, County Carlow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12890/03]

Carlow County Council submitted revised proposals to my Department on 28 April 2003 for the development of a site in Hacketstown comprising the construction of 17 dwellings, a cre±che and a community facility in two phases at an estimated cost of almost €2.5 million. These proposals, which are viewed positively by my Department, are currently under examination in the Department and a decision will be conveyed to the county council shortly.
