Vol. 566 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Dan Neville

Question:

181 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food further to Parliamentary Question No. 155 of 9 April 2003, if the balance in payments of slaughter, special beef and national envelope payment has been awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [13092/03]

Advance payments have issued to the person named in respect of seventy three animals under the slaughter premium scheme 2002 together with an additional advance payment of national envelope top-up in respect of 22 heifers. Balancing payments of slaughter premium will issue next week while balancing payments for the national envelope top-up will issue shortly.

Advance payments, at the rate of 80% of premium, issued in respect of 69 animals under the 2002 special beef premium scheme during January and March 2003. However, it has not been possible to finalise the regional quota overshoot for 2002 as my Department is awaiting clarification from the European Commission on the application of the relevant EU regulations. A decision will be made on the processing of balancing payments in respect of special beef premium as soon as this clarification is received.

Michael Ring

Question:

182 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received a REP scheme payment; and the position in relation to the payment. [13099/03]

The applicant has been issued with all payments due to him to date. Payment issued to the person named on 20 February 2003. Records in my Department show that the cheque was cashed in early March.
