Vol. 567 No. 2

Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

Jack Wall

Question:

253 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reasons persons (details supplied) in County Kildare have not been awarded the first-time buyer's grant in view of the fact that they signed the contracts prior to the abolition of the grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13895/03]

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the persons named, at the address given. Applications under the scheme, which was terminated as and from 14 November 2002, were required to be received in my Department on or before 4 December 2002.

Bernard Allen

Question:

254 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when the first time buyer's grant will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason there has been a delay in awarding the grant. [13955/03]

Provisional approval to a grant has issued in this case. On receipt of a claim for payment and notification that the house is complete and occupied, an inspection with a view to payment of the grant, if in order, will be carried out as soon as possible.
