Question:200 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the ewe premium for 30 ewes will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14617/03]

Under the 2003 ewe premium scheme, the person named applied on 30 ewes. As he had not notified the local office where the sheep would be located prior to inspection despite being requested to do so he was deemed ineligible under the scheme following an inspection of his flock on 10 April 2003. He was formally notified of this decision by the local and district superintendent on 12 May 2003. He was also advised that he could have this decision reviewed by forwarding a formal appeal to local district inspector. He has not done so to date.
