Vol. 567 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Closures.

Seán Crowe

Question:

243 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a letter requesting a meeting between his Department and the board of management of St. Patrick's national school, Doaghbeag, Fanad, Letterkenny, County Donegal in order that they can put forward the case for the preservation of the school; and when a response can be expected. [14308/03]

I have received the Deputy's letter requesting that my Department agrees to a meeting with the schools board of management to discuss the proposed closure of the school and related issues. Officials from the planning section of my Department are available to meet the school's board of management if it so wishes. The board should contact the planning section to make suitable arrangements in this regard.
