Vol. 567 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Arthur Morgan

Question:

299 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Louth will receive an appointment for a medical examination in respect of a mobility allowance application; his views on the fact that this person has had to wait an unreasonable length of time for an appointment; and if he will address the health board's failure to respond to correspondence from a Member of the Oireachtas regarding this person's case. [14265/03]

The assessment of entitlement to and payment of the mobility allowance in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Investigations were made with the chief executive officer, North-Eastern Health Board, and a letter has been issued from my Department in response to the Deputy's question.
