Vol. 567 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Joan Burton

Question:

310 Ms Burton asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding has been confirmed, either on an annual or a phased basis, in respect of the proposed primary health centre at Mulhuddart, Dublin 15; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14326/03]

The drawing up of proposals for new health centres in the Dublin area and their prioritisation are matters, in the first instance, for the Eastern Regional Health Authority or ERHA. The proposal for a health centre in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, is still in its early planning stages and a part nership approach in relation to a possible site for this development is being considered by the Northern Area Health Board and Fingal County Council. The ERHA has informed me that a brief for a site is at present being considered. When this process is completed, it will be open to the ERHA to submit the proposed development to my Department for consideration in the context of the ERHA's capital priorities in the future, in line with overall funding resources available under the national development plan.
