Written Answers. - National Sports Stadium.

Jack Wall

Question:

188 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the total cost of payments to date to consultants for the Campus and Stadium Ireland projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14833/03]

The breakdown of expenditure to date on consultants for the Campus and Stadium Ireland projects paid out through my Department's Vote is as follows: in 2001 High-Point Rendel was paid €391,000 to produce an independent overview on Stadium and Sports Campus Ireland.

A number of consultants were engaged in the delivery of the Campus and Stadium Ireland project, principally the national aquatic centre. The major consultants were as follows: Davis Langdon/PKS was paid €484,000 in 2001, €1.16 million in 2002 and €228,000 so far in 2003 in respect of project management services for the national aquatic centre; quantity surveying services and general project management services. In addition, an amount of €3 million was paid to consultants on planning, site survey work and general preparation and development of the entire campus site, including amounts of €1.8 million in 2001 and €215,000 in 2002 to Behnisch and Behnisch and Buro Happold, which prepared the architectural framework plan for the site at Abbotstown.
