Vol. 567 No. 7

Written Answers. - Partnership Agreement.

Denis Naughten

Question:

122 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if improvements in eligibility criteria and grant rates to the farm waste management scheme and the dairy hygiene scheme will apply as agreed with the farming pillar in the recent partnership talks from 1 September 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15052/03]

The new partnership agreement, Sustaining Progress, provides, in the case of the farm waste management scheme, for an increase in the eligibility threshold from 200 to 450 income units and the investment ceiling from €50,790 to €75,000. The investment ceiling for the dairy hygiene scheme is also increased from €31,743 to €50,000. As these significant improvements to the schemes concerned require EU Commission approval, revised schemes will accordingly be introduced by my Department as soon as such approval is received.
