283 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Finance if he will take immediate action in respect of restoring the public office at Tallaght Garda station, Dublin 24, which was badly damaged by fire; if the restoration will take account of the needs of the station and the community; if it will incorporate the latest security advice; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A contractor started work on the remedial works to the public area on Tuesday, 3 June 2003, and the work was completed on Friday, 6 June 2003. There are ongoing discussions with the Garda authorities about security.
