Vol. 569 No. 1

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

68 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when a work permit will issue in the case of a person (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17314/03]

An application for the individual concerned was received on 7 May 2003. It is policy to process work permit applications in the order in which they are received. Assuming the application is completed correctly and is otherwise in order it is likely to be processed within the next three weeks. The Department is now issuing work permits at a rate of 1,000 per week.
