Seymour Crawford

Question:

135 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the situation regarding community and voluntary groups that applied over 12 months ago under the scheme for training and support in the community and voluntary sector; the number of the 540 applications which have benefited from the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17737/03]

The assessment by the consultants of the applications received under the scheme of grants for training and supports in the community and voluntary sector is at an advanced stage and it is now expected that it will be completed by the end of July. It is anticipated that all applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application shortly thereafter. Payment of grants will be made on conclusion of the necessary contractual arrangements with the successful applicants.
