Vol. 569 No. 4

Written Answers. - IDA Ireland Property.

Jack Wall

Question:

151 Mr. Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if IDA Ireland received offers by way of interested industrial consortiums for the land in the ownership of IDA Ireland in Castledermot, Monasterevin, and Kildare town, County Kildare; if so, the results of such inquiries; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17990/03]

The management of the IDA Ireland property portfolio is a day to day operational matter for the agency, and not one in which I have a direct function. IDA Ireland indicates it has not received any offers from interested parties regarding landbanks at Castledermot and Monasterevin. IDA Ireland is currently in negotiations with Kildare County Council for the sale of its site of circa ten acres in Kildare town.

Question:

152 Mr. Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the land-bank available to IDA Ireland in relation to industrial development in County Kildare; her plans for the development of the land; if any of the land has been offered to the local authority; the results of such negotiations; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17991/03]

The management of the IDA Ireland property portfolio is a day to day operational matter for the agency, and not one in which I have a direct function.

The IDA landbank in County Kildare is as follows: Castledermot, three acres; Monasterevin, five acres, Kildare town, approximately ten acres, Naas, eight acres and Newbridge, 20 acres. IDA Ireland has indicated that it is currently in negotiations with Kildare County Council for the sale of its site of circa ten acres in Kildare town. IDA Ireland has confirmed that the remainder of the landbank is available for potential foreign direct investment.
