185 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason the information promised in Parliamentary Questions Nos. 122 and 123 of 22 May 2003 has to date not been provided. [17927/03]

I assure the Deputy that the infor mation requested, which requires liaison with the local inspectorate, will be forwarded as soon as it becomes available to my Department.

Question:

186 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding Charleville national school, Tullamore, County Offaly; if his Department has a report on the school from the Office of Public Works; if so, when this report will be responded to; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17928/03]

The Deputy will appreciate that, due to commercial sensitivities of site acquisition, I am unable to comment on the potential purchase of specific sites.

187 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science the terms of reference of the new report commissioned in relation to the provision of second level education in the Ballyfin and Mountrath area of County Laois; the purpose of the report; when he expects this report to be finalised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My officials are currently appraising the McCarthy report and the Meehan report with a view to identifying scenarios that would meet the future educational needs of the Portlaoise and Ballyfin area.

I have indicated that Mr. Frank Murray, Executive Chairperson of the Commission on School Accommodation, will be available in late September to facilitate discussions on possible outcomes. The details in relation to Mr. Murray's assignment have yet to be finalised.
