Question:

223 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Finance if, in the context of the poor quality of many of the Garda stations throughout the country, and the strategic location of many, he will consider a scheme of involving local authorities and local developers to provide new Garda stations and sell off existing substandard buildings. [18359/03]

The Commissioners of Public Works are considering the feasibility of various methods of upgrading Garda accommodation in the context of the programme for transforming State property and assets.
