Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

269 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science the reasons the funding for the provision of disabled access and the provision of a proper and safe play area for the children attending Holy Cross Mercy School, Killarney, County Kerry has been reduced by half; if he will review the funding issue due to the dangerous state of the play area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18435/03]

The 2003 building programme has now been published and full details of individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a small scale accommodation project for the provision of disabled access at Holy Cross NS, Killarney, County Kerry has been included in this year's school building programme. This project is listed in section 11 of the programme. It is expected that this project will be completed in 2003. The timing of other works at the school is dependent on the budgetary allocation for 2004 and subsequent years.

Question No. 270 answered with Question No. 249.
