Vol. 570 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Staffing.

Mary Wallace

Question:

368 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health and Children the numbers of staff employed at the James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown before the hospital was taken over by the health board; the number of patients the hospital catered for at that time; the present patient numbers at the hospital; the staffing figures for medical, nursing, paramedical, administrative and others; if there is a valid explanation for the change in staffing numbers vis-à-vis patient numbers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18260/03]

As the issues raised by the Deputy are appropriate to the Eastern Regional Health Authority, my Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine the matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
