Question:

417 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if mobility allowance will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; if their application will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18634/03]

The assessment of entitlement to and payment of the mobility allowance in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Investigations were made with the chief executive officer, SouthEastern Health Board and a letter has been issued from my Department in response to the Deputy's question.
