Question:

476 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application of a person (details supplied) for naturalisation; and when a decision will be made. [18284/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 474 to 476, inclusive, together.

Applications for certificates of naturalisation were received in the citizenship section of my Department from the three persons concerned, as well as another family member, in August and September 2002. In view of the fact that the applicants are members of the same family, it has been decided to process the applications together. The average processing time of applications for naturalisation is approximately 15 months at present. Consequently, it is likely that the four applications will be finalised towards the end of this year. As soon as I have reached a decision on the applications, I will inform the applicants and the Deputy of the outcome.
