Question:532 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the amount spent by his Department on upgrading its IT systems in 2002; and the projected investment in these facilities for 2003. [18427/03]
Written Answers. - IT Systems.
My Department spent more than €3.5 million in 2002 on upgrading IT systems within the Department; an additional €6.5 million was spent upgrading the ICT systems for the administration of motor tax and driving licenses in local authority motor tax offices. In the current year I expect expenditure to be approximately €6.4 million for system upgrades within my Department with a further €1.3 million being spent on the motor tax project.
