Vol. 570 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Appointments.

Jack Wall

Question:

258 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the position regarding the application by a person (details supplied) in County Kildare for a stonemasonry apprenticeship with his Department; if, as indicated in correspondence from his Department, the person is number two on the reserve listing; if so, when the person will be offered an apprenticeship in stonemasonry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19109/03]

The person in question was placed second on a reserve panel, arising from a recent competition for an apprentice stonemason in my Department's Trim national monuments district. The immediate vacancy has been filled. However, in the event of further vacancies arising during the lifetime of the panel, which expires in April 2004, my Department will contact the panel members in the order of their placement.
