Vol. 570 No. 3

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

71 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Defence the progress made to date in regard to the proposed transfer of the Civil Defence school from Dublin to Roscrea; his plans for further decentralisation of any part of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18782/03]

In the context of the White Paper on Defence the Government decided to decentralise the Civil Defence branch of my Department to Roscrea, County Tipperary.

The Office of Public Works is responsible for the provision of official accommodation for Departments. At present it is considering a number of expressions of interest from developers and property owners in providing such accommodation in Roscrea for the decentralised branch. My Department has no further decentralisation plans.
Question No. 72 answered with Question No. 106.
