Vol. 570 No. 3

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

114 Mr. Connaughton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason a redundancy package and other payments have not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18956/03]

My Department has not received formal notification concerning statutory redundancy in respect of the person referred to in the question. In this case the person concerned should make a claim for statutory redundancy payment to his sponsor. The sponsor may then wish to approach the local FÁS office in Tuam for funding. If the person concerned is not paid his entitlement he can appeal to the Employment Appeals Tribunal for a determination of his case. The telephone number of the tribunal is (01) 6313006 Lo-Call 1890 220 222.
