110 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Finance if the reports submitted by Kildare County Council in relation to flood alleviation at Straffan and Ardclough have commenced scrutinisation from an engineering, environmental or cost benefit point of view; the likely timescale for the completion of the analysis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19308/03]

The Commissioners of Public Works are currently examining reports submitted by Kildare County Council in relation to the pro posed flood alleviation at Straffan and Ardclough and this process is nearing completion.

On completion, my officials in the Office of Public Works will be in touch with the council to arrange a meeting to discuss the issues raised in the aforementioned reports.
