144 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application for a furniture grant in respect of the new north Kildare Educate Together school at Ballymakeary, Celbridge, County Kildare; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the furniture is required; if he will sanction grant aid in respect of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19265/03]

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

192 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science when he expects to be in a position to provide the extra facilities required at north Kildare school project, Celbridge, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19393/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 144 and 192 together.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has recently provided a new school building for the north Kildare school project. The school authorities have recently taken partial possession of this building. The level of funding available to my Department is insufficient to provide new furniture for all the new schools which will be completed this year.
