280 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he intends to take to remedy the current situation whereby despite urgent need, Ireland has no consultant paediatric immunologist; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Crumlin Hospital is currently flying a UK consultant over here for ten sessions a year and the grave difficulties scheduling sessions due to the vagaries of flight schedules; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that very sick children are being flown to the UK for treatment rather than endure the unacceptable situation with the provision of a service here; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the issues raised by the Deputy are appropriate to the Eastern Regional Health Authority my Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine them and to reply to the Deputy directly.
