Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Paul McGrath

Question:

378 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider a scheme of involving local authorities or local developers to provide new Garda stations and sell off existing substandard buildings in the context of the poor quality of many of the Garda stations around the country, and the strategic location of many. [20694/03]

The Commissioners of Public Works have informed me that they are considering a number of options for the replacement/upgrading of inadequate Garda stations. One of the options being considered would involve the sale of existing stations to fund the acquisition of good quality replacements.
